Loretta Tuell is a partner with the Washington, D.C., law firm of AndersonTuell, LLP. Tuell has practiced federal Indian law for 14 years. She has experience in viewing the legal and policy issues in Indian Country from three different perspectives: Capitol Hill, the administration and the private sector. She served as legal counsel for Senator Daniel K. Inouye on the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs and as special assistant and counselor to the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs. She directed the Bureau of Indian Affairs’ Office of Tribal Operations and has served as legal counsel to a nationwide base of American Indian tribes. Tuell is a member of the Nez Perce Tribe of Idaho.
